University Degrees in Social Education and
Social Work
EUTSES offers degrees in Social Education and Social Work or a second
degree in either one of these fields.
The Pere Tarrés Foundation Social Work University School is the
continuation of Spain’s first social work school, which was created
in 1932. The school, which in recent years has been included in the ICESB
framework, has strong roots in the social field and has always striven
to be active and committed to the sector.
The Pere Tarrés Foundation Social Work University School has offered
these studies ever since they were approved as university studies in 1992
and reaps the benefits of its training experience in the social education
sector which was begun by the School of Recreation (The Pere Tarrés
Foundation) in 1960.
These degrees respond to the need for training professionals who practice
in different social fields through professional options. They offer a
solid and practical university education, closely linked to the education
sector for which it trains these new professionals.
Postgraduate Centre
Furthermore, the Postgraduate Centre offers Master’s and
postgraduate degrees in social action.
At present, the Pere Tarrés Social Education and Social Work University
Schools Postgraduate Centre (URL) is a national reference point in the
ongoing training of social action professionals and not-for-profit organisation
management.
Close to 600 professionals in the social field participate in one of the
postgraduate programmes in order to:
- Update their knowledge
- Retrain
- Rise within their institutions
- Reorient themselves professionally
Participants can also choose what we call Open Modules.
Open Modules are thematic units from a Master’s or postgraduate
training programme which, because of their characteristics and contents,
can be studied independently without having to enrol in the entire Master’s
or postgraduate programme.
Most EUTSES training can be completed on campus or by distance study via
the Internet through the Virtual Campus.
